I’ve found that some drone companies—like Parrot—actually have a list on their site of places near you where you can buy their drones. On Parrot, you can choose from a list of countries, and if you select the United States, you can then choose which state you’re in and a city closest to you. Results will then show different stores in that city that sell Parrot drones. There are all sorts of options depending on which city you are buying in. You can go to Brookstone, Horizon Hobby, Microsoft Store, and Verizon Wireless, among others. On the DJI site, you can also search for dealers in the U.S., and you can narrow down your search by state through the map available.
Drones Etc no longer has a store front in Utah. We have a mail box in South Jordan but other than that, we are strictly online. Our repair shop is located in Tooele, Utah still and will continue to provide drone repair services to all our customers.
Some other stores in Utah that sell drones are Best Buy, Walmart, and Costco, which are the big chain stores. You can also find some drones for sale in smaller independent stores around Utah like Frequency Hobby Shop in Layton. There are places all over Utah that sell drones so you shouldn’t have any problems finding one. DJI even has a store location in St. George that will be open for customer business on June 1 st. This will probably be a great place to shop for drones if you live in the St. George area since DJI is one of the leading manufacturers of recreational and commercial drones.
Of course, different stores are going to have different brands and models of drones available. If you’re looking for one drone in particular, call ahead to see if the store you’re looking at has it in stock. Or you can check online for in-store availability. I know that both Walmart and Best Buy have ways for you to check if different products are already available in stores or at least are available for in-store pickup.
If you really can’t find what you’re looking for in any of the stores in Utah, you can always buy online and have a drone shipped to you. Pretty much all online dealers will ship to Utah. The only real benefit to going to a store in person is that you can talk to an employee about different options, and some stores will even give you a demo or let you try the controllers before buying anything. That way you know if something about the drone isn’t working for you.
Let’s look at what specific brands and models of drones you can buy in Utah. Like I said, most drones can be shipped so if you’re looking online, your options are limitless. However, if you are only interested in buying a drone in person, there are far fewer drones available. You can find the Parrot AR Drone 2.0 all across the state. DJI drones are also available in most places—if not already in the store, they can be shipped to your store location for a personal pick-up. But most of the drones already stocked in stores are going to be the cheaper recreational drones. Such as nano quadcopters sold at Walmart.
