DJI Phantom 3 Cases
Whether you plan on lugging your DJI Phantom 3across long stretches of terrain or transporting it by airplane or in your car, you will want to have a protective case that will keep everything together and undamaged by travel. As of right now, the DJI Phantom 3 does not come with its own travel case. However, there are many places, such as TradeCraft and GPC, where you can get a case.
GPC has come out with an amazing universal case called the DJI Phantom 3 Plus which is designed to hold any one of the Phantom models (Phantom 1, Phantom 2, Phantom 2 Vision, and Phantom 2 Vision+), including the newest Phantom 3 models. This is great if you have collected more than one Phantom model over the years.
The case can also fit 6 DJI batteries, 4 AA batteries, 1 charger, 2 antennas, FPV goggles, 1 transmitter, spare props, 1 monitor, SD cards, and GoPro batteries, charger and remote. Each of these items is held and kept stable by GPC’s custom foam.
The rest of the case is actually high end and is used by the military. Absolute protection with them is no joke. The case is resistant to UV rays, corrosion, solvent, and fungus. It has a watertight seal and an automatic valve that equalizes ambient pressure. And you can attach your own lock to its locking loops of stainless steel.
It does cost $249 and it may take 5 days to ship, but, with a lifetime guarantee, this Phantom travel case will do its job right.
If you’re looking for a cheaper case that will still protect your Phantom 3, you can look to TradeCraft’s case. It costs about $190 which is significantly cheaper than the GPC case but it is not as universal since it only holds the Phantom 3.
This case comes with a lot of the same features with some fewer storage compartments. Even though it comes with a bit less, this is still a great option and will protect your Phantom 3 from almost any travel or storage incident.
There are a few other places that sell Phantom 3cases, such as Drone World, though most of these are going to be much more expensive than the cases from GPC and TradeCraft. Another option for getting a case is just buying a case and foam separately. You would then have to create your own compartments out of the foam since the case would not already be customized for the Phantom 3. I personally think it would be more worth it to just buy an already customized case, but if you’re hoping to save a few bucks, this is an option.
If you are looking for something a little more mobile than the hard, wheeled cases, you can look at DS Styles. They have created a nylon backpack that will house and protect your Phantom 3 in places where a heavy wheeled case just isn’t practical. Although this backpack will not protect you quadcopter as much as a hard case, it is great for temporary transport like hiking up mountains, and it only costs $80.
