DJI Phantom 3 4K

DJI recently announced their newest member to the Phantom family of drones, the 4K. Many are wondering what is the difference between the Phantom 3 4K and the Phantom 3 Professional? They both feature 4K camera, Visual Positioning System, and all the other standards we've come to expect from DJI (GLONASS, GPS, GO app, etc.)

Well, the difference between the two (apart from the price) lies in the video transmission system. The 4K uses a less expensive WiFi transmission module to transmit it's video and data feed back to the pilot. What you get is a slightly less powerful transmission at a lower resolution. The Phantom 3 Professional utilizes DJI's so-called Lightbridge technology to give you a 720P HD live video stream at distances up to 3 miles. This is in contrast to the new and less expensive DJI Phantom 3 4K. The WiFi system gets you a 480P video live feed transmitted up to  3/4 of a mile.

Other than that, the camera sensor, flight controller, and rest of the internal components are virtually identical. If your in the market for a entry level 4K capable drone, the new Phantom 3 4K is the drone for you!
